NATE CONNERS
3am-5am
Monday - Friday
nate@kzok.com I was born in Honolulu…moved to Alaska in my early years. Still have issues with the folks over that one.
I got my start in Alaska’s capital city, Juneau, working at KSUP-FM/KINY-AM. Realizing that I would be stuck reporting on glacier melt my entire life, I decided that Seattle would be home. Since then…KXRX, Young Country (go ahead! Insert jokes here), and now KZOK.
I got into radio for a few reasons, really. (1) Wouldn’t have to worry about a clean wardrobe. (2) Wouldn’t be concerned with shaving and showering “every” day. (3) And of course, the infamous big salaries that you hear about jocks making.
UPDATE: I haven’t washed a load of laundry in three weeks. I haven’t shaved in two. And I still consider tuna-fish and macaroni and cheese to be a gourmet meal. In the words of Meatloaf, “2 out of 3 ain’t bad”…I suppose. Oh yeah! And then there’s that relentless love of music and the refusal to stop talking thing.
The best part about working for KZOK is the traffic reports…love ‘em! Now, only if we could incorporate time and temperature with those reports…utter Utopia! And of course, the list of Seattle’s best jocks as my cohorts. Some of whom I first started working with back in 1991 at KXRX.
If you were to ask me what my top five favorite bands are tomorrow, it would undoubtedly change slightly. But for today: Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Eagles, Beatles, and the Stoner’s (Rolling). And not necessarily in that order!
If I weren’t in radio, according to my high school ACT Assessment, I would be an auto mechanic.
Additionally, I’ve seen a U.F.O. Seriously! |
