Steve Hodge from Everett, WA

Hey KZOK, my name is Steve Hodge from Everett.

I really appreciate you allowing us to do this. I am Steve Hodge and I have alot to tell you about myself. I could tell you each and every little bit, each little nook 7 cranny, as well as all of the predicaments I have been into, but I guess I better just stick to the ordeals.

I was born in Coronado, CA., in 1961. Lived in San Diego until 1970, when my parents decided to move up here. I didn't like the idea, but, of course, had no choice in the matter.  As I grew up I would be listening to KJR 950, King 1090, and when it came out KZOK 1300. I wasn't quite used to the station back then, so I would stick to the other two stations most of the time.

In 1980, with the help of a former friend (God rest his soul), I was tu(r)ned on to 102.5 and kept listening to it since then. I would listen to that other rock station at the time when they would play "Leave It To Beaver 1980", but never really got into their heavy metal bands. They played alot of songs that were heard on KZOK, but the rest of their tunes just didn't cut it for me. I would listen to Crow & West from time to time on that station... but a big thanks to Gary (Big Daddy, Crowski, Cameron Crow's cousin] for switching to KZOK!

Moving up from CA caused a lot of problems for me, due to the fact that I started having seizures, after the move. I went through "hell" with that situation for 24 years, until I was able to be accepted through Harborview and UWMC, in 1994 to go through neurosurgery. Since then I have been seizure free and lived a MUCH different type of life. I guess you could say that my life turned a full 180 degrees.  A year after my surgery (1995), I was able to obtain a driver's license and decided to become self-employed. I started out with a cleaning company and was making close to $5,000 a month for a while there, until it got to be too much for me with unreliable employees. Since then, I added on a few other legs to my UBI # and have learned what is good in the market, what isn't, what I can handle, and what I can't.

I added a landscape maintenance portion to my cleaning company, started a bake shop, and, also, tried finding investors for Ideas/Inventions that I was able to come up with. I paid out a few $$$ for research on my Inventions, but had no luck with investors. The majority of my Inventions deal with assisting all types of people who may need it and making life much easier and more fun for the physically/mentally challenged. Now I am in the process of finding sponsors/investors to help me expand my bake shop into a bake shop/deli. This company would include a wide variety of desserts, as well as, sandwiches, soups, meats, & salads.

The main thing about this shop is that I will be having the physically/mentally challenged working for me. I had these people working for my cleaning company a few years ago and they seemed to enjoy being able to be out in the open world and make a few extra dollars.  Not everyone can go through the type of surgery that I was able to, so I try to do the next best thing for them.

Thanks for your time Guys (& Gals) and I will make sure I listen to CRA-A-A-AZOK for all time, including The Bob Rivers Show.
